Expanding Aluminum Application is an Effective Way to Resolve Overcapacity in Aluminum Industry

On May 11th, the 13th China Foundry Aluminum Alloy Industry Chain Development Forum, hosted by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metals Branch and the Beijing Zhongchuang Renewable Resources Research Institute and organized by the Resource Recycling Magazine, was held in HaiAn, Jiangsu. Actively promote the production and operation of renewable aluminum enterprises to accelerate the advancement of technological progress, increase the efficiency of comprehensive utilization of resources, innovative development models, and jointly do a good job in China's urban "mine" development.

Vice Chairman of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Literature Force, attended the meeting and gave a report titled "Operations of China's Aluminum Industry". Wang Jinwei, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association's Recycling Metals Branch made a report entitled "China's Recycled Aluminum The report of Industry Status and Development Trends, Lu Weidong, Secretary of the Hai'an County Committee attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech.

In the report, the Documentary Army explained the consumption of primary aluminum and recycled aluminum respectively. In the first quarter of 2016, China produced 7.33 million tons of electrolytic aluminum, which was a year-on-year decrease of 1.95% and a decrease of 7.02% compared to the previous period. The production of alumina was affected by electrolytic aluminum, 2015 In the year, especially in the fourth quarter, the shutdown of alumina production capacity exceeded 9 million tons; in the case of recycled aluminum, the output increased steadily, the proportion of domestic recycling increased year by year, and the average annual growth rate was 24%; the output of aluminum materials continued to increase, and investment in 2015 first appeared. Fall back. In the first quarter of 2016, aluminum production was 12.92 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%. He said that the development of China's aluminum industry is mainly based on domestic demand. Imports and exports accounted for less than 10% of production, and more than 90% of aluminum was consumed domestically.

He said that aluminum consumption will also have more room for growth. China will welcome many opportunities for using aluminum in emerging industries. In terms of construction and structure, the current building template reserves are 800 million square meters, of which less than 5% aluminum alloy template; China's large-scale real estate developers have begun to use aluminum alloy templates, and aluminum companies have begun to engage in the development and production of templates. In addition, China's metal hoardings and ceilings are mostly colored steel plates, and the annual consumption is about 5 million tons. If aluminum plates are used as substitutes, the potential will be great. For aluminum alloy pedestrian bridges, Nanning and Hangzhou are actively constructing aluminum alloys. Pedestrian overpass, Nanning will build more than 20 aluminum alloy bridges within two years. In terms of aluminum for transportation, the production and sales volume of China's aluminum alloy semi-trailer has increased from tens of vehicles to about 2,000 vehicles, and exports have been realized. There are approximately 3.5 million Chinese heavy-duty trailers. Currently, the aluminumization rate is less than 6 miles, which is a far cry from the foreign 70%; Sinopec, CNPC and other oil companies have all purchased aluminum alloy tankers, but currently aluminum alloy tank trucks. The market holds less than 2%, while European and American countries exceed 90%.

Finally, he stressed that the expansion of aluminum applications is first and foremost an effective measure to resolve excess production capacity. The expansion of aluminum applications is energy saving and emission reduction, which is to accumulate secondary resources for our country.

Wang Jiwei pointed out in the report that after nearly 10 years of rapid development, China’s recycled aluminum industry has been continuously expanding its industrial scale. According to incomplete statistics, China’s output of recycled aluminum was approximately 6.2 million tons in 2015. With the continuous development of China's economy and society, the progress of urbanization and industrialization will progress steadily, and the accumulated amount of aluminum will exceed 9 million tons by 2020. At the same time, the innovative development of aluminum applications will inevitably impose higher requirements on recycled aluminum materials. It is both an opportunity and a challenge for China's recycled aluminum industry.

He said that at present, the level of China's recycled aluminum technology and equipment has improved significantly, and some of the equipment has reached or approached the international advanced level, and the industrial stamina has been significantly enhanced. With the implementation of the industry's regulatory conditions and environmental protection verification, the awareness of environmental protection of enterprises has been greatly improved, and the elimination of backward production capacity has become conscious. Sexuality is increasing day by day, and the enthusiasm for research, development, and promotion of new energy-saving and environmental-friendly technologies, new technologies, and new equipment has increased. At present, there are more than 30 domestic aluminum recycling enterprises with production capacity of 100,000 tons, and more than five companies with production capacity of 300,000 tons. The number of reclaimed aluminum companies that have passed the “Aluminium industry regulatory conditions” has reached 29, with a total production capacity of 3.625 million. Tons laid the foundation for achieving leap-forward sustainable development during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. At the same time, industrial development is facing outstanding problems. China's 500,000 tons of aluminum cans are degraded and used each year. This is a huge waste of resources; China's current low utilization of aluminum slag resources is a serious waste, and the recovery rate of aluminum in slag is only 60%. About left and right, the final abandonment of residual ash has no use value, and it is often disposed of at will, and the impact on the natural environment is becoming increasingly serious. In contrast, developed countries adopt green reduction technology to make the recovery rate of aluminum in slag more than 98%. At the same time, the residual ash is treated with inertization to turn waste into treasure, and the real squeeze is achieved. If a 100,000 ton-grade reclaimed aluminum enterprise is used for measurement, the use of new technology can increase aluminum recovery by 2,640 tons per year and increase the recovery of inert alumina by 3,080 tons. The direct economic benefits exceed 40 million yuan.

He pointed out that for a long time to come, the demand for aluminum in China's economic and social development will continue to be high. As upstream and downstream enterprises of recycled aluminum, we must pay attention to the extension of the industrial chain, strengthen collaborative development, how to recycle the recycled metal in the next five years, and how to make the standardized enterprises continue to develop. This is the direction of joint efforts of the enterprises in the recycled aluminum industry.

In his speech, Zhang Yaxi stated that the National Foundry Aluminum Alloy Industry Chain Development Forum was held in Hai'an to analyze the development trend of the industry, explore investment opportunities, and innovate industrial models, which will help promote the development of the Hai'an aluminum industry. Hai'an will use its unique advantages in transportation hubs. We will try our best to build the most competitive industrial base with the advantages of new materials with non-ferrous metals, and promote industrialization of upstream and downstream related industries to create a superior platform for the development of non-ferrous metals industry.

At present, China's waste miscellaneous aluminum resources are growing at a rate of more than 20% per year, which provides a material basis for the rapid development of recycled aluminum in China. The refined production of recycled aluminum industry is of great significance, and the demand for resources is growing. Under the situation of recycling economy, improving the utilization rate of waste, and building a green and conservation-oriented society, it has become an inevitable trend of world economic development.
