On April 22, the Implementation Plan for the Wafangdian Diamond Mine Assembly and Exploration Area in Liaoning Province was officially approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources. This marks a significant milestone, as the area has now been designated as the second national-level self-contained exploration zone outside the Saddle-Installation Exploration Area within the province. The project aims to conduct comprehensive geological surveys and assessments, with the ultimate goal of identifying new diamond resources and supporting future development.
The plan outlines the discovery of one large diamond production area, two new large diamond mineral deposits, and 18 smaller to medium-sized diamond deposits. It is anticipated that more than 2.9 million carats of primary diamond resources (333 category) and 50,000 carats of 334-type diamond sand resources will be added. These findings are expected to greatly enhance the province's diamond reserves and support long-term economic growth.
In 2013, the focus will be on conducting detailed geological investigations, prioritizing key areas for exploration, and promoting scientific research to drive technological innovation. The Provincial Department of Land and Resources will follow established guidelines, aligning with both geological principles and market trends. Efforts will also be made to build a multi-investment platform, attract larger social capital, and implement an improved mechanism for geological prospecting.
To ensure flexibility and responsiveness, the company will regularly review and update the implementation plan based on progress. This approach is designed to accelerate the assembly survey process and achieve rapid breakthroughs in diamond exploration.
