Principle of the air cooler

The cooling fan, also known as an evaporative air conditioner, works by using a fan to create negative pressure inside the unit. This draws in outside air through a wet pad, which helps to lower the temperature of the air. As the air passes through the moistened surface, evaporation occurs, reducing the dry bulb temperature close to the wet bulb temperature. This process can result in a temperature drop of up to 15°C in hot and dry areas, depending on the humidity level.

One of the key benefits of this system is that it continuously brings in fresh outdoor air, maintaining good indoor air quality. In addition to cooling, the evaporative air conditioner also adds moisture to the air, increasing relative humidity to around 75%. This makes it ideal for use in textile and knitting workshops, where it not only improves working conditions but also helps reduce fiber breakage during spinning, enhancing the quality of the final products.

The air cooler consists of a honeycomb-shaped wet curtain made from special materials with a large surface area. A water circulation system keeps the wet curtain constantly moist. A high-efficiency, low-noise, energy-saving fan is installed inside the unit. When the fan operates, it creates a negative pressure that pulls in outside air through the wet curtain. As the air passes through the wet material, heat is absorbed by the evaporating water, effectively cooling the air. At the same time, the evaporation process increases the humidity of the air, giving the system both cooling and humidifying capabilities.

Industrial cooling fans, often referred to as dry coolers, work differently. They use a chiller to cool the air by forcing it over a cooled coil, typically located in cold storage facilities. These units can be floor-mounted or ceiling-mounted, depending on the application and space available.

Evaporative air conditioners have gained widespread popularity across China, with major production centers in Fujian. Their usage has expanded to numerous provinces including Guangdong, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and even remote regions like Xinjiang, Yunnan, and Qinghai. These systems are now commonly used in various industries, offering an eco-friendly and cost-effective cooling solution.
