Test Machine: Start the film coating machine and verify that all operational functions are working properly. Ensure the machine is stopped after confirming its normal operation.
Stirring: Take the prepared film coating solution, filter it through a 100-mesh sieve, and transfer it into a blender. Stir for approximately 40 minutes to ensure even mixing and homogeneity.
Adjusting Flow Rate: Position the spray gun at the designated spot outside the coating pan. Turn on the compressed air supply, close the atomizing gas valve, and activate the infusion pump. Adjust the flow rate of the second spray gun (or multi-head spray gun) to match the desired volume. Once adjusted, turn off the infusion pump.
Adjusting Atomization: Re-activate the infusion pump and open the atomizing air valve. Fine-tune the atomization settings to achieve optimal spray performance. After achieving the best atomization, turn off the compressed air and the infusion pump.
Loading: Based on the capacity of the coating pan, add the appropriate amount of core material into the pan. Place the spray gun inside the coating pan and adjust the distance between the spray gun and the core to a fixed position for consistent application.
Preheating: Set the temperature to 45–50°C. Open the coating pan and allow the core to tumble slowly—ensure the rotation speed is low enough to maintain proper movement without excessive agitation. Activate the hot air system and the vacuum cleaner to create a slight negative pressure. This helps heat the core while simultaneously removing fine particles and dust from the surface. Continue until the desired temperature is reached.
Spraying: Increase the rotation speed of the coating pan to achieve the ideal tumbling condition for the core. Turn on the compressed air and start the infusion pump. Adjust the spray flow rate based on the characteristics of the core. Typically, for a batch of 50kg, a flow rate of around 200ml/min is standard. Gradually increase the flow rate while monitoring the temperature. Aim to reach and maintain the preset temperature, ensuring stability throughout the process. Continue spraying until the desired coating quality is achieved.
Ending the Process: Once the coating meets the required quality standards, gradually lower the temperature and allow the system to cool down slowly. Stop the spraying process, then turn off the hot air supply for about 2–3 minutes. Finally, shut down the vacuum cleaner and the coating pan, and release the coated product from the machine.
