Sony Shows Paper as Raw Material Battery

Once a few years ago, Sony (Sany) once demonstrated the use of sugar to generate electricity. The glucose-based concept battery was still quite stunning. However, the coke-produced telephones that emerged later made the Sony pioneer a bit eclipsed.

However, the company will certainly not be reluctant to lag behind. SONY recently launched a new battery sample at the Eco-Product 2011 held in Tokyo at the end of 2011. Cellulase was used to make the cellulose in the paper. It is converted to glucose and then oxidized to generate electricity. The power generated by this battery can be used by a small fan.

From the author's point of view, the most important value of SONY's paper batteries is in the office. Papers that have been processed by shredders or paperboards such as courier packaging can be used as waste.
