Typical Damage Patterns and Risk Analysis of a Boiler Header in a Utility Boiler

Recently, the Scientific and Technological Planning Project of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), undertaken by the Anhui Special Inspection Institute, has successfully passed the acceptance test of experts.

The project analyzed and studied the defects of the power station boiler headers from 2001 to 2012 in Anhui Province and studied the typical damage patterns, diagnostic methods and preventive measures of the headers. This achievement is of great significance for the improvement of boiler-related standards and regulations, improvement of boiler design, manufacturing and inspection processes, guarantee of the quality and operational safety of headers, and improvement of boiler stability and reliability. The research results of this project have been applied to the on-site inspection of the power station boiler header and achieved good results. It marked a new breakthrough in the scientific research work of the Special Inspection Institute of Anhui Province in the inspection and testing of power station boilers.

Experts from the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute, Hefei University of Technology and other units carefully listened to the report of the project team and conducted inquiries and discussions on the research results of the project and fully affirmed it. Experts agreed that the research results of the project have reached the expected requirements of the mission book and reached the leading domestic level.
