Phase Technologies Introduces AquaPhase Pump Converters

Phase Technologies introduced the AquaPhase pump converter, which offers soft-start on three-phase pumps and other engines with single-phase operation. Phase Technologies said the AquaPhase pump conversion combines the features of its perfect digital phase converter and variable frequency drive (VFD display). This converter boosts 240-volt single-phase pump to 480-volt three-phase pump for variable frequency output without the need for a transformer. According to Phase Technologies Inc., the input module voltage is boosted with an electronic power factor corrector to eliminate common harmonic distortion in variable frequency drives. The AquaPhase pump converter meets the IEEE519 standard voltage and current distortion requirements without adding expensive input harmonic filters. AquaPhase can also specify the sine wave output voltage to protect the submersible pump motor from voltage damage due to voltage rise, which can occur on the output harmonic drive. Phase Technologies added that AquaPhase pump converters do not need to choose the margin of parameters, while three-phase variable frequency drives are needed when used as a one-way converter. Its exterior wall features a compact, rugged NEMA1 enclosure. Add a simple and cheap rain shell can be converted to NEMA3R shell. Other features include the output frequency motor soft-start to eliminate line interference and reduce water hammer. AquaPhase features state-of-the-art, programmable motor and pump protection features including overvoltage / undervoltage, overcurrent / undercurrent, and more. The control circuit is 0-5 Vdc or 4-20 mA to monitor and control the torque and speed of the motor. It is also equipped with a constant pressure water supply system.
