RFID tags can track frozen food trays in the supply chain

Recently, UPM Raflatac has launched a new RFID tag, Dogbone Freeze, for use in frozen environments. The Dogbone Freeze label is said to withstand freezing temperatures of -40°C/F and can be used to track pallets of frozen foods in the supply chain.

The global retail giant Metro has adopted the Dogbone Freeze label in a pilot project in Germany and has achieved significant results.

The Dogbone Freeze tag contains a 240-bit EPC store with a 64-bit tag identifier, including a 32-bit unique serial number.
