The card is very thin and lightweight, and the method of use is very simple. It only needs to be installed on the battery of a mobile device. At the same time, the WiCC card can also be used as an NFC (Near Field Communication) antenna, and it seems that it makes the future of wireless charging technology bright.
However, the WiCC card also has drawbacks. The design of the charging card can only be applied to mobile devices conforming to the IEEE standard, and it cannot be used directly on devices such as the iPhone that cannot disassemble the battery. Therefore, if a WiCC card is to be used, handset manufacturers must add a small connector to the battery, with two wires for charging, two for NFC signal transmission, and two for data transmission.
Powermat President Daniel Schreiber thinks that the WiCC card is a breakthrough in the smart phone industry. He said “In the future, we will make wireless charging the most important part of a mobile phone as it is to the phone.†At MWC, Powermat will have The opportunity to use the Samsung Galaxy II phone to display the WiCC card.
Due to technical limitations, we are still unable to see wireless charging cards in the market for a short period of time. However, we believe that in the near future, wireless charging cards will be attached to the batteries of numerous mobile phones.
