Analysis of the Causes of High Temperature of Vacuum Pump Motor

The busbar voltage of the vacuum pump motor is 380V. However, due to voltage drop in the cables and uneven load distribution, the actual voltage applied to the motor is only 365V. This low voltage causes the motor to draw a higher current, leading to increased heat generation and potential overheating issues. 1. Analysis of the Causes of High Temperature in the Vacuum Pump (1) The motor has a high power rating, which results in a large working current and significant heat production. (2) The fan speed is too low, resulting in insufficient airflow and reduced cooling efficiency. (3) The number of fan blades is limited, further reducing the volume of air moved. (4) Dust and oil accumulation on the motor surface impair its ability to dissipate heat effectively. (5) The motor’s bus voltage is 380V, but due to voltage drop and uneven load distribution, the effective voltage drops to 365V, causing increased current draw and excessive heat. 2. Countermeasures to Address High Temperatures in the Vacuum Pump To improve cooling performance, the motor power and speed must be matched with the vacuum pump. The fan is mounted directly on the motor shaft, so the fan speed is dependent on the motor speed and cannot be easily replaced. Increasing the number of fan blades can help, but it may affect the dynamic balance and potentially cause motor vibration if not properly managed. (1) The original fan cover was extended by 40cm, and an axial fan with the same diameter as the cover was installed inside. The axial fan is powered by a separate 850W motor, running at 1489r/min with a voltage of 380V. The original fan is still retained. An additional power control system was added for the axial fan, allowing it to operate independently from the main motor. Once the vacuum pump starts, the axial fan is activated immediately, and it continues to run for 30 minutes after the pump stops, ensuring proper cooling of the main motor. (2) Regular cleaning of the motor is essential to remove dust and grease, keeping the heat sink clean and improving heat dissipation. (3) Adjusting the busbar voltage of the vacuum pump to 400V helps reduce the current draw and minimize heat generation. 3. Results of the High-Temperature Mitigation Measures (1) With the high-speed axial fan providing greater airflow and improved cooling, the main motor temperature dropped by 12°C under the same ambient conditions and load. This ensures that the motor does not exceed safe temperatures during summer. (2) The axial fan can be manually controlled. Even after the main motor stops, the fan continues to run, allowing the motor to cool completely. (3) Efforts are being made to balance the load across both busbars to prevent voltage drops caused by overloading one side. (4) After adjusting the voltage, the diaphragm pump's operating current decreased to 210A, significantly reducing heat generation. (5) These improvements slow down the aging of the motor insulation, extending its service life. Geared Traction Machine

Geared traction Machine For Elevator / Lift, Elevator Spare Parts.

Geared traction machines are driven by AC or DC electric motors. As the name implies, the electric motor in this design drives a worm-and-gear-type reduction unit, which turns the hoisting sheave. While the lift rates are slower than in a typical gearless elevator, the gear reduction offers the advantage of requiring a less powerful motor to turn the sheave. These elevators typically operate at speeds from 38 to 152 meters (125-500 ft) per minute and carry loads of up to 13,600 kilograms (30,000 lb). An electrically controlled brake between the motor and the reduction unit stops the elevator, holding the car at the desired floor level.
