Sweden develops new technology to convert waste clothes into biofuels

According to reports, a team led by Prof. Muhammad Tahsad of the University of Buras in Sweden found that the cotton fibers contained in used jeans can be converted into fuels that allow the car to travel. As a result, the researchers used a solvent that was environmentally friendly to soak old jeans for long periods of time. They successfully separated the cotton fibers in the jeans from the polyester fibers, and then converted the cotton fibers to ethanol or Other biofuels. The remaining polyester fiber can also be recycled and used again in textiles.

Tahsad said that after the technology is mature, people will be able to convert waste clothing into biofuels at a little cost, which will be more beneficial to the environment.
