China's First Mars Exploration Satellite "Fireflies No. 1" Has Been Shipped to Russia [Full Text]

Yesterday learned from the Shanghai Space Agency 509 that China's first Mars exploration satellite -- "Firefly One" has arrived in Russia, after the final joint debugging, waiting for launch.

"Firefly One" is part of the Sino-Russian Joint Mars Exploration Program. It has three main exploration missions. It explores the space environment of Mars, explores the mechanism of the disappearance of Martian surface water, and reveals the evolution characteristics of terrestrial planets.

The satellite was developed by the Shanghai Space Agency 509 and the Russians were responsible for the launch. According to the plan, "Firefly One" will be launched in October this year with Russia's "Forbes" carrying a Soyuz carrier rocket from the Baikonur Space Center. After about 10 to 11 months of flight, enter the orbit of Mars.
