Cylinder failure analysis

To check for cylinder leaks, use soapy water. If bubbles appear at the piston rod outlet of the front cover, it indicates that the U-ring is no longer effective. If the cylinder is connected to the front or rear cover and there is a leak, it means that the sealing roll between the cylinder and the cover is not functioning properly, which may lead to failure.

In case of a leak, the COP seal is likely to be damaged. The QGAW10 cylinder assembly uses a rolling process during manufacturing, which makes it impossible to repair once the seal fails. Therefore, if a leak is detected, it's recommended to replace the entire unit rather than attempting any repairs.

When performing maintenance, always make sure to inspect all seals and connections carefully. A small leak can lead to bigger issues over time, especially in high-pressure environments. Regular checks using soapy water are an effective and simple way to identify potential problems early on. This helps prevent unexpected failures and extends the life of your equipment. Always refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines when replacing parts or performing inspections.
