Grade Analysis of Diesel Generator Set Automation Control System

The designer or user of the diesel generator set automation control system should proceed from the actual situation and determine the automatic control functions that the diesel generator set must have according to the specific requirements. China has formulated the GB/T4712-1996 "Automated Diesel Generator Component Level Requirements" standard for land-based automatic diesel generator sets with rated power not exceeding 3200KW, and classifies diesel generator sets into three levels according to their automation degree;

(1) The performance of the first-class automatic diesel generator set is as follows:

1) Single generator set automation for emergency power supply. Keep voltage and frequency constant during operation.

2) The generator set should automatically maintain the emergency standby operation state (the battery is automatically charged; the gas cylinder is automatically inflated), and the diesel engine is automatically pre-lubricated before starting.

3) When the generator set needs to be started, running or stopped, it can automatically start, run or stop according to the automatic control command.

4) In the operation process of the generator set, if there are abnormal conditions such as overload, short circuit, over speed, over frequency, high water temperature and low oil pressure, the automatic protection can be carried out.

5) The generator set should be equipped with an acousto-optic signal system indicating normal operation. These indication signals and alarm signals indicate the operation of the unit.

6) The generator set should be able to operate continuously for 4 hours without being on duty.

(2) In addition to meeting the requirements of the first-level automation unit, the secondary-automatic diesel generator set should also have the following functions:

1) The generator set should have the function of automatic replenishment of fuel, oil and cooling water.

2) The generator set can run continuously for 240 hours under unattended conditions.

(3) In addition to meeting the requirements of the first and second stage automatic units, the three-stage automatic diesel generator set must also have the following functions:

1) When the generator set fails to start, the self-starting control program system should be able to automatically transfer the start command to another standby unit.

2) The generator set should be able to automatically juxtapose and disengage two generator sets of the same model according to automatic control commands or remote control commands.

3) When the generator set is running in parallel, it should be able to automatically distribute the output active power and reactive power.

4) In addition to the protection of the primary and secondary automation units, the generator set should also have reverse power protection and other functions.

Three sets of three-stage automatic generator sets can be combined into one automatic power station. Two of them are used for common power supply units and one is reserved. Therefore, functions related to parallel operation should be added. The automatic control system should be based on load and operation conditions. The generator set automatically starts, stops, parallels, and distributes the load. The fault is divided into two levels: one level is light fault, and uninterrupted power supply should be realized, that is, the standby generator set is put into parallel operation, and then stopped. The faulty generator set. The second stage is a heavy fault. When the faulty generator set is stopped urgently, the standby generator set is immediately put into operation, and the load is allowed to be interrupted.
