San Francisco, USA, the Daimler Group's synthetic diamonds division, Element Six, announced at the 2013 Western Photonics Show that the company's California plant will increase its production of synthetic diamond wafers by 50%.

Element Six's increased production will meet the growing demand for optical window products, a laser plasma extreme ultraviolet (English: EUV) lithography system component. Synthetic diamond optical windows are an easy replacement for traditional optical materials, achieving low defect rates and ensuring unparalleled system performance, technical leader Adrian Wilson.

Chemical vapor deposition technology utilizes properties to create synthetic windows for high-energy carbon dioxide lasers and high-throughput EUV processing technologies, thus achieving the best cost and survival rates for lithography systems. (Translation: Wang Wei)
